I don’t know there’s much I can say about Torchwood: Children of Earth without giving away spoilers to those who haven’t seen it yet (and I’ve put plenty of thoughts on LC) but wow. Jaw-dropping. Not perfect, but eight billion zillion times better than either of the previous series or most mainstream drama these days. Shocking, heart-stopping, gut-wrenching, sad, scary, funny, bleak, with moments I even had to turn away from the screen for. It was just… astonishing. I know some people don’t like it – but perhaps they have their standards just that bit too high – there have been very few dramas in the last few years that have been any cop, and this may have had its flaws but it certainly deserves to be one of the small number that is lauded.
As for the other big story of recent days…

Man in the Mirror
Oh, and the C4 Jacques Perretti thing tonight was just awful. (See also: OK magazine’s ‘loving tribute’ being his dying mugshot on the cover. Classy).
